EXTRA-STRENGTH is an entirely improvised show. They don’t rehearse, they don’t plan anything, and in fact before a show they barely talk to each other until they step on stage.


EXTRA-STRENGTH’s 10 performers have more than 60 years of combined experience as actors, writers, comedians and improvisers. Each of them plays between a half dozen to two dozen different characters over the course of a show: men and women, elderly people and children, encompassing a variety of ethnic and religious backgrounds and sexual orientations. Heroes, villains and victims, geniuses and idiots, people of power and their subordinates, families and friends, enemies and lovers. They play animals, monsters and mythological creatures, super-humans and cyborgs, gods and demons, inanimate objects and even fresh produce. Their shows are peppered with nods to pop culture, movies, TV and music, history, literature, politics, sociology and current events.
